    ADOLESCENT CURRICULUM

    journey of self awareness

Adolescence is the most exciting and yet, most daunting time for any child. The changes that occur - both physical and emotional can prove to be very difficult to navigate alone - and often parents also are unable to offer comfort as they feel equally helpless. The Riverside 'Adolescent Reader' was designed by our very first batch of adolescents in 2008 - as a way to understand this phase and to bring the parents as allies in this journey of growth. It offers multiple insights from research, activities to do and reflective prompts as a way to know more about self and others.

It is important to encourage children to explore and exercise all of their intelligence. Creating a rich, nurturing, and stimulating environment filled with interesting materials lays the foundation for empowered, curious children. With our 'Interest Center' curriculum we build on this premise to help students identify strengths. The teacher then designs experiences and activities that build their competencies as empowered learners.

    ART CURRICULUM

    from creativity to creation

Slowing down and expressing oneself freely unleashes creativity. Aesthetics in children, as we understand it, is about keeping their simplicity and immediacy intact! With this belief the 'The Art Within' programme tries to create a non-judgmental environment in which students explore themselves, use tools and techniques to express, connect with and celebrate the natural self (with its strength and weaknesses), others and the world.
